help! 740 loss of power when cold 700 1991

Hi guys... so my 91 740 nonturbo (336kmiles) has been great all winter, but today I found a loss of power when starting from a stop before the engine heated up. I've been getting the check engine light, with code 2-2-1, but that's been there for months without this problem. The engine seems to "miss" and rpms go erratic, but it hasn't stalled or left me stranded. I know the 2-2-1 (regina system) is the oxygen sensor...could this problem lead to the loss of power as well? I'm going to start simple this weekend with some new plugs... and step it up from there... please let me know if this sounds like something else! Thanks
