760GLE Oil Leak(s) 700 1988

Hey Guys, thanks for all the help with the transmission fluid stuff, gave me peace of mind and saved a couple of $ too...

Anyway, for about 6 months I've noticed that there's been oil on the driveway. This morning it snowed, and when I was driving down the driveway I noticed that there was some oil leaking. I had my mechanic take a look at it and he said that it was the rear main and the oil pan gasket that was leaking and it would be about 1000$ to fix all the leakage because the crossmember would have to be dropped. The oil level on the dipstick is fine, it's just really messy and I'd like to see if I can't fix this myself. For some reason I doubt that it's a rear main because I can't see any oil coming from the bellhousing BUT I do see oil around the oil filler tube and around the valve covers, the sucker seems to be shooting oil everywhere! By the way, this is the B280F, so the oil port doesn't have a cap, it's a breather hose. Also, I see oil dripping from around the distributor cap. I guess my questions are: a)could this emulate a RMS leak, and b) how can I rectify these?

I did inspect the flametrap and the flametrap had been removed but I cleaned out the plastic elbow that it fits in. Is there more that may need servicing as far as the PCV system goes?

Thank you very much!
