Substitute Ford in-tank fuel pump for Volvo 740?? 700 1986

Having fuel problems with my 86 740 SW..just changed the main Bosch fuel pump and a new filter...no difference. Also new fuel pressure regulator and good used idle control motor and AMM. It may require a rebuild of the in-tank pump. Just noticed that on eBay, a Ford pump for 88-91 pickups and 86-89 740 use the same pump ($15). Should I trust the Ford pump to last as long as the OEM?
any suggestions?
