Alternator Hookup 140-160 1974

At least on the SEV/Motorola/Marchal alternators, the amp light provides the inital field excitation that
enables the alternator to "bootstrap" itself into operation so you probably should hook it up.
One of the terminals on the back of the alternator should be marked "61".
That is where you hook the amp light and the other SMALL red wire.
The BIG red wire goes to the D+ terminal which is usually a ΒΌ" or 6mm bolt
with a nut on it.
