Tire Sizes 1800 1972

I agree completely on the 195/65.

But... over the 37 year life span of these cars, wheels often get swapped out, so you want to check that your car has the original wheels.. they look identical to much more common 140 wheels, but the 140 wheels are only 5" wide, which is pushing it for 195 cross section tires.

Check the numbers and dates stamped between the lug nuts... numbers should be 684001, dates will probably be mid-late '71 or early '72. If the dates match on all 4 (or 5) wheels, they are likely original. Some wheels will have the width 5.5 stamped in too.
