Car stalled out? alternator problem? 200 1989

I loosen the 'Pivot' Bolt with wrenches. I do it from above, not below.
Climb under, take off the Blue wire then from the Top you can get the 12mm and 13m wrenches on the hardware.

If you don't want to do a little manipulating to get the brushes out, you can buy the entire Regulator. http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo.htm

Art Benstein and company can give you a better feel for the 14.? volts on one red and 13.25 on the other. That may be an issue that leads to the Regulator being bad.

Disconnect the battery before disconnecting the Alternator wires.
