Crankshaft Position Sensor cable connection - how to unfasten? 700 1992

Yes, I am an idiot. I have semi-diagnosed my 740's crank-but-no-start syndrome (intermittent) to the connection near the PS/Brake area on the firewall. It's an unusual electrical connector with a piece of wire running halfway around one of the connectors with two bent ends, and what looks like might be tabs to press on, but I can't figure it out and don't want to break it. Since when I push the two ends harder together, it starts right up, I think a good connector cleaning will restore this, at least until I can get a new cable.
Any help appreciated!
