dynamatting 120-130

I've been bogged down with stuff and injuries, haven't had time for cars.

Anyway, worth it? You are the only one whom can make that call. A galaxie taxi and marquis are the same car. you would never believe it driving them. The difference? Stuffing and sound deadening. Personally, I'd say it's worth any effort to quiet the car and make driving more pleasurable.

The doors and 1/4's are cavernous and have no deadening on them at all. It would do more good to put stuff in there. Obviously hood and deck are easier, hood being more important than deck. The factory stuff is very good that they did put on the floor. A dense mat under the carpet would help out there with road noise. The stuff on the firewall is loose, a start, but not enough to really work. If you take apart luxury cars, there will be a ton of stuffing all over, extra layers of something. Bags of shredded cotton stuffed in places. (like the 122's already have in the sail panels)

You can make them with regular freezer ziplock bags and blown in insulation from a home store.
Evercoat has long furnished these for the body trade. They seem to be a lot more $$$ than I remember. Mercedes has them for dirt cheap if you know a good parts guy at the dealership. (or did, this was long ago) Wurth make some good ones too.

You may be able to make something from a junkyard work, from say a lincoln or caddy. Some underhood pads are soft and can be remoulded? No need to reinvent the wheel, car makers have been trying to keep cars quiet since roll up windows! Go see what works and copy that!
