Smoke on 93 Volvo 940 turbo 900 1993

I have two of these (93 turbo), and if I were a betting man I would say that the seals in your turbo's journal bearing are whooped. You don't mention what color the smoke is, but if it is blue-grey, and the car smokes like a mosquito truck for 30 seconds or so on start-up after sitting for a while , I would bet a beer it is turbo seals. What happens is as it sits for a while oil seeps past and pools in the exhaust side of the turbo, and smokes as it burns away. What is your oil consumption like?

Hope someone else has a better suggestion
