Soft brakes. S90-V90

I bought a 97 V90 a few months ago and I am still trying to get everything 100 percent. I just went through the brakes, new pads, front hoses, rear pads, rear shoes and brake cables which left me with a really soft pedal. I cannot remember what the pedal feel was like before I did all this but my 92 964 has hard pedal and instant braking. The antilocks seem to be functioning properly but that pedal feels very uncomfortable. Any feedback would be appreciated.
