Sunday's Dumb Question re Glovebox Removal 200

Hi. This question concerns taking out the glovebox to get to the overdrive relay. I removed the glovebox retaining screws, per the illustration in Haynes. Pulling the box forward, it angles out from the top but remains firmly connected at the bottom. I don't want to force it, and I cannot see what is holding it back. I removed the plastic buttons beneath the dash, but that only released the under-dash panel. There are some hexagonal off to the sides beneath the dash, but I think they may be part of the console support frame? ALl indications are that this should be an easy task, so here's the "DUMB" question: Am I trying to take out the whole box which includes the hinged door? Or am I just trying to take out the molded interior part of the box? And if it's the whole box, door and all, what am I missing here? Thanks so much.
