fuel pressure results, check valve suspect 200

Hey Bricksters,

So I finally managed to get a fuel pressure reading - was following FAQ's advice on hard hot starting. [on a '91 240]. 43 psi with the FPR hose pulled, 38 with the hose attached, pretty perfect. But residual pressure plummets to nothing within seconds. Bentley suggests the main fuel pump check valve is the problem.

So I will be replacing that next weekend I suppose. Just wanted to ask if there are things I should know of before I start: bubble-gum solutions? Things to check while I am down there? Any tricks?
The FAQ says it's 'fairly easy' to do. 'Define easy' jumps to mind...
Thanks in advance!
Boerre
