740 Estate (Not) Central Locking. 700 1990

Hey Chris,

It sounds like there is a problem with the door switch or the central locking relay. My guess is its the switch. Others have indeed had this happen to them, and its listed in our handy FAQ. Check out these sections:

http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/BodyDoors.htm#ElectricWindowandDoorLockProblems

http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/BodyDoors.htm#DoorLocksFailtoLock

You'll most likely need to remove the inner door panel to access the mechanics of the locks. This shows you how:

http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/BodyDoors.htm#Inner_Door_Panel_Removal

Its quite easy to remove the panels. The link explains it better than I can.

Hope this message finds you well.

Regards, Jon 'Uncle Olaf'
