86 240, Automatic, Overdrive Relay Question 200 1986

Before I ask my question, I'd like to thank all on the Brickboard who provide the great feedback to the less experienced (like me). Specifically, I'd like to thank Art Benstein for bailing me out on my latest problem/mess-up with the instrument panel on my 86 240.

Unrelated question. If an automatic transmission overdrive relay goes click and the contacts actually move when the button on the gear shift knob is pushed, is that an absolute indication that the relay is functioning properly? I'm trying to isolate an intermittent problem I have with the OD sticking in the "on" (yellow arrow up) position.

Any help is appreciated.

Brian
