1989 745 overdrive 700 1989

Usual problem...no OD. Fololowing the FAQ, I've checked the relay (it click) and the dash light (it comes on). REplaced the relay with a new(?) one found in the glove box from PO. The next step seems to be checking the wiring from the relay to the solenoid, and it's not practical to go under the car today.

Two questions:

1. per the FAQ, the relay and fuse panels are removable to check the wiring under the relay panel. Mine appears to be "stuck" under the right (passenger) side. It feels as though someone had cemented it down. How much force is appropriate to lift the panel free? Do the relay and fuse panels come out as a unit? (I hope the panel isn't melted into place, 'cause everything else works fine.)

2. again, when I can borrow a floor jack, where are the best places to jack the vehicle up, and place the jack stands?

So far, I've solved a lot of problems with the help of the board...thanks to everyone for your assistance.

Harry
