new (to me) 780 700 1991

Hey folks,

I recently bought a 1991 780 Bertone, and am looking for info. Not my first Volvo -- I recently sold a 242 GT that I'd had for 18 years, broke my heart, but it wasn't practical to move it across the country. Before that, I had a 1973 145 wagon for 11 years or so....

It's in pretty minty shape, but: the rear speakers don't work, the rear amplifier lights up. The front speakers work, but the driver's side one may be blown -- doesn't go very loud without distortion. The CD player doesn't seem to work either, although its previous owner installed a new Volvo-branded unit that's never been used. Is there a front amp for this car? Where is it? What are the specs on these Volvo amps anyway?

I'm thinking of converting it to synthetic oil to protect the turbo, any issues?

I need a passenger tail light and a driver's side tan speaker grill, is there a good place to search salvage yards for these parts? For all I know, there may be a salvage yard locally that has parts, but I'm not sure the best way to search them.

Just fishing for any info especially about the stereo system, as the owner's manual doesn't go into great detail about it.... Most of the mechanics seem fine for now.

Many thanks, bt
