AC Conversion 200

Sweed,

I'm not sure about your year, but I converted my 1992 240 wagon to 134A two or three years ago. I bought the official Volvo conversion kit from FCPGroton.com and it was very affordable for my year. But there might be more involved for older models. I remember installing a new orifice tube and receiver/dryer and then changing some o-rings on the ac hose connections. I drained the oil out of my compresor and added ester oil from the conversion kit. It was all very easy to do and if you can change spark plugs, you can do it as long as you have wrenches and sockets of the proper size. Prior to the convesion I took the car to a local garage to have what remained of the R-12 evacuated. Then I followed the very good Volvo directions from the kit. After that I took the car back to the local garage to be filled with the appropriate amount of 134A. The system has performed very well for me. I'm thinking the kit was around $100 and I spent maybe another $60 to have the local garage evacuate and fill the system.

Good luck.
