driveline vibration....fixed! 200 1993

A few weeks ago, after a 800 mile round trip to Ottawa, I had an annoying, and getting worse, vibration.

I still have the whine/squeel, which many, including myself, attribute to the center driveshaft bearing. But I could not see how that was making the vibration.

So I decided maybe I could see something if I could only watch the driveline when it was moving. I jacked up the left rear wheel, put a jackstand under the rear axle, chocked the front wheels both sides, and started it up and put it in first gear.
One glance at the rear tire was all I needed. I could see a bump going round and round. There was a bump on the tread, which I had not felt when running my hands around the tire. I guess the bump was too gradual to detect by feel.
I was going to retire these snow tires this year anyway, They are 15 year old Nokia (from before they had to change their name so as not to be confused with a cell phone) studded Hak. 10's.
Put on the summer tires and hoping for no late season storms.
