rough idle 900

I have a rough idle on my 1994 940T wagon when starting lately, lots of exhaust smell, sounds like exhaust coming out of manifold cant tell where, could it be the flame trap is clogged from warming up engine all winter, or is it the throttle body needs cleaning, once car is warm the exhaust smell and extra noise from engine subsides, also leaking coolant from water pump, but already had this issue resolved here, haven't had a chance to fix.
