Wow! I gouged the intermediate shaft on my b230 while removing the seal. Now...

I used some fine emory cloth to try and smooth the edges and then tried to intall the seal so that it would be in the best possible position. Now, Im just hoping for the best.
Any comments or suggestions that you have would be greatly appreciated. If I do have a persistent leak, what is the solution. Change the intermediate shaft? What?
How do you change that shaft?

Its my 740 with around 250,000mi and running really well. I need to keep it alive and well.

would someone please kick me.

Thanks
