rear main bearing seal 200 1986

40 miles short of 150K and the rear main seal gave out about a mile from the house.
That is unless there is something else back there that will give off that much oil onto the exhaust pipe.
So there is a freeze plug on the rear of the motor I should take care of. Any trans seals I should tend to while It's out? Does the trans have to be preset to any particular ignition timing before I bully it out?
I have the Salvation Army coming to take the recently deceased Jimmy and the Mystique with the ruinously expensive Cataclysmic converters, in the next day or so. Then I will have operating space in my garage and can go about this with a minimum of discomfort ( I live in Ca. and my garage's heated figure that out,it was like that when I got it)
Then I take a couple of days off before or after the weekend, and raise hell.
Words of encouragement, advice, or warning are all greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
