Power Antenna Issues 900

Not long ago I have the trunk lid repainted from being rear ended. During the work, the body shop accidentially turned the radio on with the fender cap on the antenna off. This sent the antenna flying out of the car. They replaced it but forgot the metal sleeve, and so the antenna was all wiggly. When I took it back, they realized the metal sleeve was gone, and found it in the garbage. Although they put it back on, the antenna now sticks, and slants a bit.

Any idea what damage this whole thing may have done? The motor assemble is a bit off centre, so I will straighten it out.

So today I took it back to the shop, and they gave me a new Volvo mast and nylon gear. I plan to put it in myself, but given the rest of this, I would like some guidance on how best to feed the new mast and gear in to be sure it is straight.

Ideas much appreciated.
