1995 940 oil leak 900

I have an oil leak in my 1995 940, (2.3) coming from the rear of the engine. Believing it was the rear engine oil seal, I began the task of removing the necessary components to gain access to the seal. Upon removal of the starter motor I noticed the leak coming from above the starter. I’m in question as to what the part is above the starter that bolts to the block. If I remember correctly it is the same location where the older B motor’s distributor used to be. It has a wire connection and metal tubing running to it. The oil leak seems to be coming from the bottom of this part where it bolts to the block. Can anyone tell me what this part is, and if there is a seal incorporated in this part somewhere? I thank anyone for any feedback that can help me out.
