Thanks for that Gary. I've checked out my D-jet Bosch manual now and see that the FPR is in fact after the injectors and acts more like a floodgate allowing any pressure greater than whatever it's set for(28-30psi normally)to be returned to the tank. Not as I suggested in my previous post. That'll teach me to try to think logically and assume the regulator regulated the fuel as it entered the rail.
