Early-stage RUST along seams at bottom of driver's door; ADVICE, PLEASE 200

Before I start talking to body shop and professional paint shops...

I see rust starting to develop where the sheets of metal form a seam at the bottom/inside of the driver's door of my 1990 245.

Any tips or words of encouragement out there from folks who've been through this? I don't know how common this particular rust problem is on 240's.

I know nothing about body work/rust elimination or serious painting.

My kooky goal is to keep this car going strong for 30 more years.
