Hi,
I finally got around to figuring out how to make a 12V 245 tailgate wiper motor work as a replacement windshield wiper motor in my Duett (see posts from a few year or so ago...).
How to connect the four wires from the switch: black, blue, green and red to three terminals on the newer motor had me scratching my head a bit...
After swapping out a bad replacement motor (rats!) I found that a double male spade connector into a single female (two into one) allowed both the red and green wires to be attached to the last terminal (closest to the motor).
The first terminal (the one closest to the passenger) on the wiper motor takes the black (ground) wire, the second terminal (the middle one) takes the blue (power)wire and the third terminal takes both the green (?)* and red (?)* wires...
The driver side wiper works great and stops in perfect position every time (thanks red and green wires!).
Unfortunately my Duett is missing the long piece of linkage that connects the wiper motor to the passenger side wiper so my passenger side wiper is still more than a little limp.
This is something I can most likely rectify by welding two pieces of linkage from a 544 together...
If one of you fellow Brickboarder Duett owners could please measure the length of the passenger side wiper linkage in your car and also let me know if it has a bend in it that would be most helpful and greatly appreciated.
I am sure my Dog would also enjoy seeing where I am going next year when it rains again.
Cheers!
