think its a fuel delivery issue, pump i think. 140-160 1971

If you hear the priming pulse work after turning on the engine, and no fuel pump running while cranking, then your problem is in the main relay next to the fuel pump relay or the relay connections (loose wires, bad relay).

I am glad you saw no rust in the filter, that indicates your tank has little rust and low potential to kill your pump.

Make sure that feed lines to the pump from tank are not sharply bent. The bend in tubing and suction from the pump will collapse the rubber fuel line and cause loss of power.
