Best of luck to you on your journey. Reading your post regarding the mileage per day goal my thoughts are the same as Joel the Locksmith's. That a lot of "in the car time". At that rate you'll be spending 10-14 hours a day between driving,gas and food stops--not leaving much time to actually relax and/or visit places. The two lanes are the roads to be on for a trek like this but you won't be able to average the 65-70 mph road time needeed to cover that distance. Slow down--enjoy yourself--it's a beautiful country out there. -- Dave
