Road trip assistance - advice 200

OK - call me nuts, but I just bought another 240. A 91-245 wagon - 5 speed. The trick: I have to drive it from Connecticut to Texas.

First:
need advice on items I need to carry with me.

Second:
In case of breakdown of something I can't handle - need a list of recommended repair shops in Pennsylvania/Virginia/Tennessee/Arkansas if I need to drop the car off and return later.

Third:
Any list members along the route that may wish to email me their contact info if they are willing and able to lend a hand.

The trip will either occur the weekend of April 17-19 or put off until mid May.

Giant thanks in advance to everybody.
