Prince of (interior) darkness 1994 944 900 1994

Greetings one and all,

Been a while since I've been on the board. This is due to the fact that 1) a career change has taken me to a non-computer-using job; 2) my 940 has been behaving itself; and 3) my other vehicles have not. But once again I will need to ask the collective wisdom that is Brickboard to help me solve the insoluble, correct the uncorrected, and fix what's broke on my loyal brick.

Here's the problem: all of the lights in the switches on the panel have gone dark. Without warning or provocation they ceased to light. No other lights are out--just those illuminating the switches. No fuses are blown, and nothing was knocked loose by my ham-handed attempts at mechanics--I didn't touch it, honest! I didn't touch anything, in fact.

Has this been encountered by anyone else, or is there a known fault somewhere? I have begun with my usual scouring of the FAQ and board and found zip, zilch, nada. While this is merely an anniyance to me, it's a genuine hazard to someone less familiar with the switch layout--i.e., Mrs. Brickslayer.

Your input, as always, is most welcome.

Cheers,
Matt
