OD Switch 140-160

Take no offense, but this is a good example of why you should always include more spefications about the car in question. (Yearmodel etc).

Well, your problem begins with the steering/ignition lock - this is very different from a stick shift car - the overdrive switch is ment to mount with a special bracket - that mounts to the steering lock. (All years).

1967-68 140 series, stick shift, have first style bracket (first generation steering lock)
1969-72 140 series, stick shift, have second style bracket (second generation steering lock)

Both same style OD switch.

1973-74 140 series, stick shift, have total different setup - and different OD switch.

Since an aut.trans. car was never ment to have OD - you are basically "free" to do whatever the best with what you have got - unless you want to go all the way to convert the steering lock too.

See this auction - picture 2 shows the 2 different early style brackets 'A' the 1967-68 style - 'B' the 1969-72 style. Picture 1 shows "all" the parts needed for a factory-true conversion.

140 OD switch and more
