Dome light not working 900 1994

The dome light/ door courtesy lights on my new '94 940 works OK on three of the four doors but on the passenger door, the red courtesy lite in the door jam comes on but the dome light doesn't. I've ordered the manual but it's no here yet. Can you tell me what other circuitry is involved?

and BTW what's with these all-burned-out $20 grain of wheat lights for the instrument clusters? That's $100 for a set of what should be $2 worth of lamps in a .25 cent plastic socket! While there is a great work around in the FAQ section I wonder if anybody has come out with a off the shelf mod to replace them with a cheap LED yet? (and are LED even dimmable?)
