Bilstein front inserts, no bump stop 700

Upper spring mounts; discovery.
Although I have been told that all 740's have the same upper spring mount, I have two different ones.
The one that comes new from Volvo, and that I got at the boneyard, is thinner and has rubber surrounding a metal base inside, so it is quite stiff. The strut bearing sits down inside a sort of molded depression, but it is all one piece.
The one that was in my car is two pieces; one is shaped rubber that the spring mounts on and is flexible, and the other is a steel stamping that sits on top of the rubber part, and which the strut bearing rests against.
There is about a 3/4" difference in thickness between the two designs, so it would affect the ride height I believe.
Hope this is helpful or interesting to someone.
Jerry
