84 volvo 240 wagon and 83 sedan rear end interchangeable? 200

The rear end on my "83 with 404k miles is finally biting the dust. Have a '84 wagon with a good rear end, and I know they are the same in terms of fit, but is the gearing insidethe same if they are both auto 3 speeds with OD?
