Main fuel pump dead I think??? 200

Several weeks ago I had a no start and then came back the next day and she started just fine (1989 240DL). How ever this week she died permently. Here is what I have done so far.

1. Replaced fuel pump relay

2. Verfied cam moving

3. checked flywheel sensor

4. Double checked 25amp wiring

5. Number 4 fuse was corroded and looked bad...cleaned and replaced fuse. When I did that a fuel pump would turn on but it did not sound like normal. Much more high pitch.

6. Jumped left side 4 to left side 6. Same noise as discribed in step 5.

So I'm guessing what I'm hearing is the in-tank fuel pump? and the main one is dead? The car will fire and run for about a second. Whats my next step? Thanks.
