Trouble Bad Idle and Check Engine Light 200 1992

Folks,

My 240 began to idle terribly yesterday and would stall as soon as I let off the gas. Was able to drive home and today after church decided to give a look at it. The check engine light came on, so I plugged in the self diagnostic code thingy. Ends up that it was throwing a code for fuel mixture too rich or lean, and also a code for a bad fuel injector. Looked over the injectors and realized that injector #1 was leaking fuel! Luckily no fire. The metal clip on top was undone and the injector wasn't sitting all the way down in the hole properly.

Pushed the injector back down firm and re-attached the clip. Cleared the error codes. Started the car up and it idles great. No check engine light.

Problem fixed.

Tom
