Fusible Link at Battery + terminal 900 1992

Has anyone had to replace the fusible link that feeds voltage from Battery + to the 940 Fan control relay?

I'm phone diagnosing my son's "no fan" problem from 150 miles away, and want to be able tell him what to look for.

He took the relay cover off and manually tried closing both the High and Low speed relays but got no fan action, but the fan will run with a direct +12V jumper.

The diagram shows the wire color as Gray, then changing to Red at a "Branching Point". I believe the fat Gray section is a fusible link, and need to know the wire gauge size for that application.

A search here on "fusible link" got nothing specific.
