Heater Control Valve adjustment 200 1993

Hi all,

As summer nears, i realize more each day that I need to resolve my heater control valve issue. The problem, like most others, is that the heat will not completely shut off when the temp control slider is completely to the left. So ive been reading all the posts i can find in the brickboard regarding this issue. However, the problem Im having is that in my 93, the "newer" type valve is installed. It is similar to the replacement variety that IPD sells.

So, my questions are:
how can i test this valve (hopefully without removing it?)
Is there a tweak I can do, similar to the adjustment screw trick on teh old style heater control valve?

It gets to be triple digits where i live in the summer, and my air works well, but i dont want it to have to battle the heater every time.

Thanks in advance.
