Brake pedal growl 1800 1970

I've just noticed a vibration when I depress my brake pedal. I've checked the linkage to the booster, and the diaphram in the booster holds vacuum. It feels like somthing in the booster housing is rubbing creating friction on the down stroke of the pedal. Any ideas????
