740 speedometer speed sender 700 1991

1991 740 sedan, B230f, no ABS

I have the jumpy speedometer issue.

I climbed under the car and found a sensor in the diff. Pulled the connector, pulled the sensor, cleaned it all up, put it back, still the same. Actually the wires o nthe conenctor looked spotless, likely not a bad contact.
I suspect the sensor, unless there are other ideas.

Looking at fcpgroton, I am confused. They list no speed sensor for 740 models past '88. Also the sensor I pulled out of the 740 looks like that in the image of fcp's sensor for the 850 cars.

Was I looking at the right sensor in the diff? Was there another one?

Thanks.
