CE light not on..and that's a problem? 900 1994

I pulled the codes tonight from my new 940 and what I WANTED to see was 3-1-2 (bad wiring to knock sensor) which is my only on going issue, a slight ping under load.
Instead I got 1-2-1, the AMM , which should result in poor driving and mileage (I have neither and 17 -27 mpg) it also says the CE light should be on (it’s not) The same thing with codes from pin #6 , 2-4-1 ERG flow resulting in poor idle. The car purrs a kitten and again no CE light as the chart predicts.

Does this sound like a screwy ODB box as the FAQ suggest sometime happens or the owner screwing up reading the FAQs, which I suspect is more common.

Thanks again in advance.
Charles
