climate control questions.... 900 1995

So as usual I check the faq first when I have a question and found this;

"Make sure the Auto Climate Control does everything right. Run the A/C fan on full, and accelerate hard. The vents must not stop working. If they do, you've got expensive work ahead."

So it was kinda hot this week and on a big drive I said "Hey, the previous owner had the ac recharged last summer, let's really try it out" so mmmmm.... nice cold air but...

I finally noticed that during hard acceleration the fan slows down. The vents don't seem to close but the fan definitely slows down. As soon as I let of the gas it ramps right back up to whatever it's set on. It does this with the ac off as well. It does this whether the system is on "auto", or a manually set fan speed.

I assume during the winter I didn't notice because I've never run the fan past 1 in the winter (had the ac pumping on full auto last week).

So is this normal behavior for my car? or am I getting ready for a whole new world of hurt?

Thanks as always, not too many of us 960 guys.
