Easier less messy oil changes anyone?

Definitely. Having grown up aboard boats and living on and around them for most of my life (until coming out to the desert) I was very used to using a pump to do oil changes. The one that I used for the cars, I purchased at West Marine for something like $30, and around 10 years ago. It was good for the small marine engine jobs (not 12 cylinder Detroits or anything). There were a few varieties to choose from. I used to use it here or there, where it wasn't practical to jack the car up and roll under it. Mostly I used it for the rear axle jobs on the units that don't have a dedicated drain plug, but I did use it a couple of times for engine oil.

The pump won't leave enough in the sump to worry about. I experimented one time, pumping it out from above, then opening the drain plug. There was hardly anything remaining--maybe a few ounces.

It's also nice for pumping out other things (p/s fluid, rear axle, etc).
