AC not cooling S90-V90

Well, we had our first hot day and my V90 ac isn't cooling yet again. Last summer when I took it in the dealer they put in some uv dye. The system ran ok until fall, a couple months later, then it gave out. I'm now left with either going back to the dealer and getting it refilled and have them check what's wrong and hope it lasts longer than a month, or refilling it myself, which I have never done.

I have the original compressor. I have had the bypass wiring done around the temp sensor on the compressor, checked the ac relay, etc. I'm kind of inclined to take it back to the dealer and see what they say, but if it's really expensive and just refilling every month or two works, I'd be up for that if I'm not going to just make things worse, like blow up a compressor or something.

I was curious what other more "ac knowledgable people" think I should do? If it's just refill with r134a then what's involved?
