Crazy Dashboard 700 1988

OK, so I jumped into my '88 745T last night and the dashboard was all crazy. The voltmeter and fuel gauge were non-functioning. Boost gauge worked fine. Speedo non-functional. Tachometer non-functional until I switched OD off - then not accurate at all. OD light is either very faint or bright (when OD turned off). Temp gauge would jump up and down depending on whether OD was on or off. After a couple minutes of driving the battery light came on. These aren't the signs I had on my 240 when the alternator was failing, but that's what this feels like - the exception being that I drove the car for about 10 minutes and did not notice any dimming/flickering of the headlights or instrument cluster.
