Theory of MAP Fault - Thought Experiment 700 1990

Hi,

I believe that this sensor is flaking out. Look at the symptoms:

1. Lack of throttle response after high vacuum.

2. Sudden rich running.

3. Missing under load.

This is indicative of a fuel management system / stoichiometry error.

A tabulation of engine vacuum and sensor output would reveal a fault, but the price of a new sensor is not substantial.

If the was sensor sticking at end of travel this would lead to the above symptoms.
