For the money, you can't beat new aftermarket European spec assemblies. They're better optically than the original Volvo headlamps for the American market.... and certainly better than aftermarket US-spec headlamps.

For our 1987 240 wagon, I just received a set of used European headlamps from a friend in the Netherlands.
