Why Do HIF's Seem to HATE my Engine? 120-130

A Nice engine.
The thing I would mention IMHO is that when using the HIF6's as opposed to the HF6 is that the carb needs to be mounted on a thick (3/8") phenolic spacer. If the carb body is mounted directly on top of the intake the rise in temp changes where the fuel level ends up, and this is going to be different at different tempratuers, something that the HS6's are problematic with the external float, but the HIF6 is much more sensitive. Just like the fuel filter location to reduce vapor lock in the lines, these carb's need some cooling to maintain a low vapor climate in the bowl.
Also with that motor you will need needles like the RR taper.
