rear differential mounts 444-544

I have had an uneasy feeling about the rear end moving around in my 444. Parked the car a year or so ago and recently bought a rotary hoist. Put the car on the lift and discovered the two anchor points on top of the differential have literally torn the brace out of the floor at the mounting point. Any reason I can't weld a bracket to the axle tubes and a brace to the two trailing arms so that it can't rotate? Any other thoughts or solutions? B20 with M41 and 4:10 gears. 160 hp is best guess.
