Help - Intermittant No Starting Problem 700 1988

1988 740 wagon . For past week car will sometimes crank over but not start. Has happened a few times. Intermittant problem - not every time but maybe every 10th time or so. When it happens it happens when car is either cold or hot. I wait about 1/2 hour then it starts ok. Battery and alternator check out fine. What could problem be ? I am thinking maybe a bad ground . Where should I check ? Which ground(s) should I replace ? Thanks very much.
